Bands to see in Cork??

Im gonna be in Cork soon and was wondering has anyone any recommendations for up comming gigs to see?Whats the scene like?

Not the best live music scene tbh. Galway and Limerick seem to be getting more action at the moment.
Cyprus Avenue is a pretty good venue. Some upcoming gigs there are Ted Leo & the Pharmacists, iLikeTrains, Jason Isbell (driveby truckers).
Supposedly there's another big venue opening soon which will be devoted to live music.
The Lobby bar is sorely missed. Also Bandicoot promotions seem to be fairly quiet of late. They've gotten some great bands in over the years.

Roach Material? I think they are relaunching with a new name soon. Good band.

This is a rather shameless plug i know, but my band The Dead Flags will be playing in An Cruiscín Lán on Douglas Street on the 28th February if you fancy heading along to that? We're not actually from Cork, but it will be our first gig there, so should be fun!
