Dublin recycling centres

    Does anyone know if you can go to to the Dublin recylcing centres (such as Ballyogen) to look for spare parts for electrical items?

    I doubt it. I'm sure there may be insurance related issues. Having said that I think you should give it a shot though. May depend on the supervisor of the day.

    I've seen a few guys down by the east link depot taking stuff on a regular basis. Noone seems to care as long as they aren't pulling anything back out of skips or creating a hazard. They hang about looking for interesting items. If you wanted an old VCR from the bottom of the pile though you'd have a problem !

    I've done it before at Ballyogan when I happen to be there dropping off other stuff and no-one blinked an eyelid. Got what looked like a brand new unused keyboard and mouse once. I don't think they'd let you in just to rummage though.
