    a) i'd fold his junk preflop. b) im not getting knocked out at 25/50 with 400 bb's on that board. QQ and A10/K10/Q10/J 10 are all in a reraising range for button v bb. How many hands am i check raising the turn with that 10/rag beats?

Whatever anyway im not getting into a big debate with you, i've no time or respect for your opinion. Got something in common at least ;)

good post, totally ignore the questions I ask and add some more disinformation. At no point was the call of the check raise mentioned, thats a totally seperate issue.

If you dont want to get into debates here then stop posting nonsense.

Or TQ, TA, TJ, TK, 33 or even T9 for a chop.

Thanks for pointing that out, I was under the impression that T9 was the 2nd nuts on that board.

I think there was some confusion about the flop, it was originally reported that it was 10 10 x and that a house was flopped. but x apparently was a 3 and the other holding was 10 9.

Okies. Well when i post facts (like your abysmal pokerstars mtt record) i get a debate with you, so i might as well post nonsense to enter a debate.

This thread is "strategies for tournament players re next week". 2 things - 1. you're posting off topic as usual trying to provoke me and 2. you're not a tournament player. clearly!

    Oh and btw....

    the board was 10 10 3 Q 8.

    IF the board was 10 10 9 Q 8,

9T is NOT the 2nd nuts. Ummm it's not even the 3rd nuts. LOL.

when he holds one of the 10's the nuts ranking changes - there is no possible permutation of 1010.

anyway - i get what your saying

um I kinda skimmed a lot of this and while I'm not 100% sure of the action on the hand, I think I'm with requiem on this one about not getting stuck 400 BBs following a turn CR.

I was joking. If you follow the posts, I said that your range was something like AA KK QQ, and only QQ is ahead of 9T at that point. For some reason someone brought it upon themselves to point out that 9T is far from the nuts at that stage, but as I explained in the pot it is the practical 2nd nuts against a tight reraising range.

im half asleep and half brain dead, not good combo.

i'm sick of this arrogant know-it-all, he puts me and so many others off posting here and i'm on the brink of stopping altogether. I may not be a poker genius but it doesnt mean he has to fkin snipe at every single word i write.

Why dont you ask the mods for a beginners section?

we arent really discussing the hand. R4ad brought up the turn call apros of nothing

I'm sorry but if on the turn the board reads 10 3 10 Q and i get check raised after been flat called on the flop alarm bells start going off in my head.
If this were a cash game and not a tournament I am sure HJ/Valor and others would be the first to advocate a fold on turn. You don't beat 33, QQ, J10, Q10, K10 or A10. TBH I would most likely put my opponent on A10 or QQ here given the preflop action.

Ah lads FFS! can we concentrate on the hand.
I was joking. If you follow the posts, I said that your range was something like AA KK QQ, and only QQ is ahead of 9T at that point.
Are you seriously limiting his range to rule out all of TA, TK, TQ, TJ, and 33 ?
He has re raised a top class player from 150 to 400 when 600 bb's deep and appears to want to play a big pot on a paired board on the first level of a deepstacked tournament.
For some reason someone brought it upon themselves to point out that 9T is far from the nuts at that stage, but as I explained in the pot it is the practical 2nd nuts against a tight reraising range.
I honestly wasn't sure if I was being helpful or smartassed when I posted that. I couldn't believe then or now that you could narrow the range that much. Wow!

Firstly this is a hand between two unknowns, and secondly, the crucial decision that we are talking about is whether to bet the turn or not, and how much to bet, after R4AD reraised preflop and check called the flop. BUT before he check raises, so in fact it doesnt look like he wants to play a big pot, it looks like he has an overpair and is desperately trying to play a small pot.

This all stemmed from R4ad saying he thought valor should of exercised pot control. Only a small incorrect point, but I always like to help.

Fair enough. Why don't we take this rare conciliatory moment and try and put this behind us. We both basically got bad beated out of the last tournament, and I need my hate for the guy who 2outered me. Ill try and be less annoying, and perhaps you could try and not take debate so personally.

I only take it personally because you disagree with what i write almost 100% of the time, either because:

    a) i write a lot of poor advice. (possible).

    b) the way we view the game is through different prisms. (thus an inevitable clash).

This thread is a good example, my over-riding point was i would not be getting stuck 400 bb's on level 1. If you re-read my posts i was never critical of valor, it was a cooler turn. All i said was i wouldnt have gotten knocked out if i was in his spot. The turn is foldable, he's not beating much as played. I would bet slightly less on flop and turn, probably fold to the c/r. "pot control" was perhaps a wrong phrase - what i tried to convey was personally i wouldnt make a pot sized cbet and pot sized turn bet against an unknown 1st level. (2/3 size on both streets for me). Your reply was basically "that's nonsense". You might not agree that it's the optimal line but it doesnt make it nonsense?

Hence when i get told im wrong consistently, it starts feeling personal and i react to it.

I re-read some of my old advice on hands and think "i got that wrong". I'm *trying* to get better at the game and im sure every poster here has at times posted replies they later see are bad. You dont need to pounce on it like a falcon swooping from the sky. You do have the option of letting some of my posts you disagree with slide or, on rare instances, agree with what i'm saying.

Anyway it's very petty, most boardsies who know me know i wouldnt say boo to a ghost, all this confrontation is futile. I said it to van dice privately and i'll say it to you publically, lurking in the HH section in the past 3 months has helped my game no end and i respect a lot of what you say.

I dont really want to spend much time on this hand, I wasn't there and don't even know all the details. My comments had nothing to do with what happens after you check raise the turn. Anyway its not important now. Ill try to be less falcon like in future :)
