Maybe Ronaldo didnt wave the imaginary card. Would have thought he was only doing it in the interest of fairness earlier so would ask for them for both sides. :)

Will spurs blow it 2nd half or will united 99th minute peno be a dive?

Tottenham are set up to foul Ronaldo! it's a joke. they have had three yellows and all against ronaldo. they are closing down well though which is why they are winning.

ugh, what a terrible reffing performance.

    Clearly a penalty against United.
    Clearly a handball by Jenas
Very close to a red card by Brown
Ronaldo getting fouled every single time he gets the ball, 3 players have creamed him now.
    Utterly inconsistant in every decision
Totally lost control of the game

In terms of the game, I think the second half will be different. Spurs are rapidly running out of players to foul Ronaldo. If they keep it up, they are either gona get somebody sent off, or else have to let him actually play.
Giggs has been woeful, and to be honest, Scholes has been off kilter. Hargreaves really isn't doing much, not providing protection, and since he's got very little going forward, has very little to do.
    The substitutions I'd make?
Bring on Anderson for Scholes, Nani for Giggs, Carrick for Hargreaves.

I think the 2nd half will be better for United, if only because Ronaldo can have more of an influence since they can't keep fouling him. The idea that he shouldn't wave an imaginary yellow card is crap. He is getting fouled every single time he gets the ball, every single time. If they don't get booked, they are gona keep doing it. It's not that they are doing late tackles, they are literally just fouling him every time. If the ref isn't giving him the protection he should, he should tell the ref.

No they're winning because Berbatov scored and they have passed the ball great.

Carrick on for Hargreaves, good move from Fergie, think Anderson might come on for Scholes later.

Reading losing again I see. They're being sucked right into the relegation scrap. Terrible form over the last couple of months.

Pompey should be 1 up. Defoe looking good.

Not just in this game but all the time. How do both linesmen and refs miss the really obvious push in hte back from the defenders when the ball is dropping, Vidic on Berbatov was a classic example. Surely thats exactly the place the linesman should be looking?

HEHE "What an awful shot from Keane" . I love it when commentators just come out and say it like that instead of the usual "well, he could have done better"

    Chelsea scores

Pompey robbed of a peno down one end, Chelsea break and score.

It's baffling how linesmen can miss things from only yards away, with a perfect view right across the pitch. The same happened in the rugby today. Do the linesmen just bottle it sometimes?

Good subs, heres a chance for Anderson and Nani to prove their worth.

Two clear penalties missed again. Vidic on Berbatov. Dawson (I think) on Ronaldo. Both clear pushes in the back

    Defoe scores

Mike clattenburg hates United? Eh no, that should have been a red card. Horrible tackle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,227 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

That was a bad tackle by Nani, easily could have walked.

This could finish up with yellows all round.

2 united players should have had red cards, spot on PHB the ref is inconsistent but consistently inconsistent for both teams :p

Dawson should have went too hit VDS in the face intentional possibly.

Horrid tackle, should have been a red for Nani.
Dawson whacks VDS in the face there.

Clattenburg likes to try get a physical game going, but is so utterly inconcistant it doesn't work.
He also hates Ronaldo and if given any sort of chance will send him off.

Just utterly terrible reffing, all round, just terrible.

p.s. How **** was Keane and how amazing is Berbatov.

    Hutton is really good.

Hand ball there maybe for Evra.

It's just such a bad reffing performance its unreal. What has he got right?

    p.s. Portsmouth score, thank god.

I've actually lost count of how much possession United have given away. I can think of maybe 10-15 occassions where a United player has passed the ball directly to a Spurs player.

I'm hopeful in this last 15 minutes Spurs will start to get tired, they are playing an incredibly high tempo game.

Jesus Anderson came close there, great save

I didnt think Dawson touched VDS's face, it looked like their arms collided.

Me thinks Reading are going down.

Berbatov done more work in this game than in all the other games i seen him in this season, he looks up for it. What did Sam say to him?

He said if you play well United will sign you :)

I think Spurs are really doing well to exposure Uniteds real weakness, which is they really don't have an alternative , nobody up front to win headers. So if they play an incredibly high tempo game up front, closing down non-stop, Spurs contain them to long balls. Then once United can't get any decent ball, their passing gets worse.

Spurs are tiring, United look like they might get something now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

United are finally starting to turn the screw a little, Spurs are starting to tire, starting to think we might be able to get a draw, maybe :)

Anyone else seeing a tired leg giving away a penalty :P

Sometimes I just love Keane, he appeals for absolutely everything, even when it clearly touched Vidic's head.

Rooney clearly dived there, there was no need either, he could easily have gotten on the end of that. Smacks of lack of confidence to me.
