    Hi All
I am starting to look at selling my car, I have an 07 1.4 Opel Astra sports hatch SXI, its is in perfect condition and currently has 13000km (about 8000 miles)on the clock, it still has 1 yrs manufactures warranty valid until the end of February 2009.
The reason for selling is that I am immigrating and its not possible to bring da car with me!
Does any one know what the market is like for these type of cars and do you think I will have a hard time selling it privately at the moment?

I’m also not sure at what price to value the car.. they are about 24000e to buy new..so if any one could give me an estimate of what you think I should be asking for that would be great.. Any other advice re selling privately is welcome as this is all new to me..

    Thank you

€18500 should get it sold easily enough. I like the 3 door Astra btw.

Is 5500euro normal deprecation on a new car? i was kind of hoping i would get around 20k for it..

I mean now. You have to look at it from the point of view of a potential buyer. They can get a brand-new one in their choice of colour/trim for, say, €22,500. Yours is an 07 with 13,000kms on the clock and a year less warranty. How much cheaper would it have to be to convince them to forgo a new one? €18,500 is €4,000 depreciation, ie under 18%. At that, i'd say you're doing very well. Just my opinion, mind.
