Hooking a laptop up to a samsung LCD TV(LE32)

Howdy folks, Unfortunately there is no DVI output on my laptop so i cannot connect from here to the HDMI (via adaptor) connector at the rear of the TV so i have to use the D type connector from my laptop to the VGA input on the TV....:rolleyes: However when i do this the tv just goes into standby. Any ideas :confused:

Have you pressed the right combination of FN buttons for your laptop , this will switch over to the TV as the main screen.
