Have to agree. Easily one of the poorest brands of crisps on the market altho having said that a cheese and onion crisp sandwich in fresh white sliced loaf and real butter is well nice and now I want one....dammit....
    With Ketchup FTW!!!:D

Not as bad as people who call them crips tbh.

Walkers Cheese and Onion are the best cheese n onion around, no question. NO QUESTION!

It's just like those who call all mp3 players 'ipods'.

Probably an Irish thing as opposed to just a 'bogger' thing.

hmmph. i've just had the same argument with the b/f for the millionth time in the last week.

    crisps are crisps.

    chips are chips.

at least the americans, in their bastardisation of it, call chips fries, and crisps chips.

kiwis though... ohh, no, that would be too much like common sense, they just call them ALL chips.

there is a HUGE difference between chips and crisps!
why call them both teh same thing!

    gah, ****ing idiots.

I started calling them crips in a jokey way many years ago.
Now I do it without thinking.

The biggest offenders are those that call all crisps cripps. Where did that even come from?!

    You know nothing about crisps.
Walkers are disgusting, mind you Tayto aren't much better these days.
But the worst tasting packet of tayto are still nicer than any walkers crisp.

We should start a petition to get 'Walkers' out of Ireland.

and you know nothing of the crunch.

    Fook the crunch
You can get the crunch from 'Hunky Dorys' or 'McCoys' no need for Walkers.

Walkers are by far the best crisps.

Taytos are always very greasy and normally burnt

By the way, Walkers aren't actually English, they are American (owned by Pepsico)

    Who said they were English?
    I didn't.
    I still hate them though.

Tayto Ireland are owned by Cantrell & Cochrane who are owned by Largo Foods who are owned by Pepsico ( Pepsi Cola ) who also own Walkers.
Largo Foods also own Hunky Dory.
Tayto (NI) are a totaly separate private company who recently bought Golden Wonder.

Here me and my mate were talking last night about those people who call every type of crisp taytos. They are silly. Dont you think?

    Don't you mean Tayros man!

Seriously though not as bad as Americans calling crisps chips!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,758 ✭✭✭Stercus Accidit

    King no. 1

Perri, used to be no. 2, back when they had too much cheesy flavor powder on them, and you could lick your fingers afterwards.

Tayto's crisps have lost a lot of taste in recent years. they taste like crap nowadays

My favourite salt and vinegar flavour would have to be hunky dorys (think thats the brand) or walkers. I dont like cheese and onion flavour unless they are Kings or jackets!

Tayto's have redeemed themselves in the last while actually becoming nice again. Before that there was no compromise, it was King crisps all the way.

Sorta miss the good old red packet of perrys :-(

    QFT

I have hated tayto crisp's all of my life for this very reason. Is there any sort of quality control in that poxy factory.

King and Hula Hoops always :)

Was offered a pack of tayto at Christmas just gone after avoiding the awful things for decades and they were just as burnt and greasy as ever.
