    what sort of car is it, some cig lighters can be a bit odd. live and ground being to close etc. have you used other plug-in devices apart from the iTrip thingy in the car?

    Maybe ask an auto electrician to hardwire it into your car. He'd know how to do it safely and you'd never be CHOONLESS again!
