Play chinese games on PAL ps2

Hey guys,

Friend of mine is asking me if it's possible to play Chinese games on a PAL ps2, does it need to be chipped?

You need a chinese region PS2 to play chinese PS2 games. Its a seperate region from PAL, NTSC-U (American Region), NTSC-J (Japanese Region).

What chinese PS2 games would your friend be interested in?

No idea he just got some from someone and he asked me could he play him, I know the PS2 is region locked but I was wondering if there's a way of modding it.

I know PS3 games are region free but i was just wondering, would a PS2 game from the US work on a PS3??

Can't seem to get MGS:3 here and since the PS2 is dying away chances are i won't find one either, but i've found a good option online, a ''collectors pack'' with MGS1,MGS:2 AND MGS:3 in the one pack, at a cost off €38(including postage) it's much better then paying €20 for a second hand one off Amazon.

Is there some lock on the PS3's in regards to playing PS2 games?, i've actually never even came across anyone asking this before

No you can't. The PS3 is region locked for PS2, PS1 games from the region it was bought.
Your PAL PS3 can only play PAL PS2, PS1 games.
