i was just discussing with a friend and this kinda came up, how real it is that (some) guys have a 'thing' for asians and why?

I don't know man alot of them seem to be bush whackers (from my only exposure to them, which is porn) not a great thing to be basing my opinion on though

I remember reading an article by an Asian woman a few years ago in which she complained that she was expected to be 'virginal yet sexually adventurous.' Perhaps many guys here have bought into some of the cliches and media debasement of Asian women which in turn may arise from their secondary role in Asian society. Think of the Japanese schoolgirl look in anime with plenty of white cotton panty flashing.
Either that or because they have really tight snizzes.

Being Chinese I can tell you that Lucy Liu is regarded as plain/ugly by Chinese people (due to her tiny eyes). Here's someone that is regarded by peers as "hot"

Fraid to say, its genetic...

People are genetically to be more attractive to people from other race/gene pools with obvious differences in appearance. Its a deep down defense mechanism to ensure our own gene pool stays healthy and we do not become inbred but keep the best strenghts from both pools!

This came up in a conversation recently with friends I cant say I have ever been attracted to an asian woman. No reason why, just no appeal there at all.

I believe the science merely states that mild genetic variance is something that affects people subconsciously (e.g. one person's sweat has different effects on different people).

But such wide genetic differences do not really appeal subconsciously, or else white people would have a "black fetish" too. And black people with "white", "asian" etc. etc.
