Sealing slate floor tiles

We have grey slate tiles or our kitchen floor (house recently bought), and I suspect the wear sealed/polished before we moved in. Does anyone know how these tiles are meant to be looked after in terms of polishing or sealing? Are there companies with machines that do this?

    Cheers.

Hi, to give the slates a new look you need to strip back the old sealant. Im sure there is an easier way but I used to get at them with one of those wire scourer thingies :D... make sure they are clean and dry and you can reseal them with a sealer and a brush. The sealer can be bought in tile shops or most DIY shops.
