When did you first get your glasses?

I got them when I was about eight. I hated them, and I tried to avoid wearing them. I even went to the cinema without them once, because I hated them (had to borrow my dad's glasses to see:o). I've since come to accept them. While looking at a family video recently, my mother apologised for forcing those glasses on me.…

I've been wearing mine since I was 4 - 22 glorious years. Started off with nice steel-rimmed jobs, but a bad fall at about 7 years of age smashed 'em and left my face quite badly scarred (though it's faded with time) so it was on to the giant plastic rims and thick thick plastic lenses of the 80s for me!

I've one lazy eye so I'd to wear a patch for a couple of years, which I hated. Didn't like wearing glasses either, 'cos I was the only one in my class who did.

I'm pretty lucky though - by the time I was 17 my eyesight had improved enough that I now only have to wear them for reading/watching tv/working on the computer - I used need them 24/7.

Managed to smash one pair and completely lose the other in the last month, so splashed out on my first new glasses in about 6 years the other day. Feeling quite swanky now - apparantly glasses became fashionable and I didn't know!
