    Hello maradona10,

There is a possible solution to your problem here:

    http://windowsxp.mvps.org/duplicatedesktop.htm

Best to backup registry first as recommended:

    http://windowsxp.mvps.org/registry.htm

    Good luck.

just been looking at those links.

i caused the problem by moving the all users desktop folder to my user folder.

i need to open the registry editor to solve the problem but the advice is for xp users. do you know how i can open the registry editor using 2000 or is there even a reg editor for 2000

thanks for your help. appreciate you taking the time

    1. Click Start, and then click Run.
    2. In the Open box, type regedt32, and then click OK.
