Anyone know why my DNS server is in Galway, yet I am in Edenderry, Offally?
Would changing this bring my ping down at all?

Also, what difference would there be, say, if I used a DNS one in Dublin?

It might not be really in Galway, and if it is, it might be connected to your exchange via fast low latency fibre. If you have a firewall/router it will have the default DNS and cache and your PC will have the router IP for DNS.
It only affects webpages with loads of content from multiple web sites. It won't affect your ping time otherwise no matter what DNS is used.
