Do I need a third line from my Sky Dish to get my old Skybox FTA?

Hi, I just got an upgrade to Sky+ today.
The installer says to use my old Sky box as an FTA box I will need to run a third cable from my dish.
    Is this correct?
I thought I could just split one of the existing cables that is now going into the Skybox and attach it to my old Skybox for use as with FTA?

If it works with a splitter, could anyone point me in the right direction (what splitter, what cable type?)

As stated many times here you cannot split a satellite cable. You should run wf100 or similar cable from dish or if you are on a tight budget and the cable run is less that 20m you can get away with good quality rg6 cable, you will also need two f connectors
