When one partner in a couple uses the phrase "we're pregnant" or "we are trying to get pregnant" ect, no, no you aren't. She is pregnant, you are trying to get her pregnant, there is no plural in that sentence. It used to be just an American thing but like alot of annoying American habits its spread to over here. A freind of mine used it the other day and it genuinly took all my will power not to permanently disfigure him.

And when teachers in school used to talk about how they deserve and demand respect in that really patronising arrogant way.
