If I purchase a new PVR or an integrated TV, how do I find out if the tuners are Mpeg2 or Mpeg4? This dosn't be mentioned in the Specs.

From what I've learnt on this board in the last week, a simple rule applies. If it doesn't clearly state (ie. it is not in the specs) MPEG-4 (MPEG-IV), then it's MPEG-2.
Further, Watty's comments in other threads state that we have no MPEG-4 TVs in Ireland.

    Or very few TVs.

There is a Neotion "CAM type device" that converts MPEG4 to MPEG. Used for French market. There is SIM sized slot in it for optional viewing card. You can cut a regular Credit Card viewing card to fit, Use an old SIM carrier or phone SIM to see where to cut. Obviously this could wreck the viewing card.

The device is only SD, not HD.
