I have just unsubsribed my multiroom from sky in the hope that I can watch Free-to-View and Free-to-Air but when I go into the menu none of the channels are available. I can watch the stations in 'Other Channels'. Do I have to download another EPG or should I be able to watch it thru the Sky EPG ?
If I remove the card shouldn't I get Free-to-Air ? But when I do it gives an error message saying 'Insert Card' ???????
I know I'm doing something stupid here can anyone help me out please ?

Put your Sky Card back in box. Go to Sky News 501. Press Red interactive Button. When Skys 8 news screens appear, take out sky card and press backup to leave interactive screen. Then check your epg. You shouls have the uk epg. Do not insert the Irish card once you have UK epg or your epg will revert to ROI epg.

    Only available to UK subscribers (C4,C5,C5 US,C5 Life,Sky 3)

    Or ex-subscribers even!

Don't need to be a subscriber. You just need a Post Code UK address for them to send it to. Once off approx £22 charge. N.I. this morning is still in U.K.

In that case, these channels are not available to ex-ROI subscribers on an ex-ROI card.

It's a UK scheme. Why would it work on any form of ROI card?

    Thanks givecredit for the info.
I was about to post a similiar query when I saw this thread.
Tried it earlier but had no Sky card inserted.
    Did not work.
Then found my card and followed the instructions.
    Works straight away

It wouldn't. Read the OP's second post.

Ok, That worked to get the UK EPG loaded but what's the advantage ? It seems that I have the same channels, just that BBC and UTV are top of the list. How do I get the Irish channels ? Can they be added to 'Other Channels' ? (I know I can get an ariel but trying to keep all on the one system for simlicity (Not for me but for my lovely wife and those life enriching soaps - Only apply sarcasm to second bit !!)
Also with the one off card from Sky what other channels do I get ?

Channel 4, Channel 5, Five Life, Five US, Sky 3 and Setanta Sports News.

You can't get the Irish channels. Except radio that is...

I wasn't aware Sky boxes relied on the FTB protocol :p

Discworld references. Hex is a mechanical/magical computer in that series of books, if you forget to give it cheese for its mouse (which is an actual living mouse) it gives you an "out of cheese error", namely "++?????++ Out of Cheese Error. Redo From Start."

The FTB protocol is a "fluffy teddy bear" it was given, and if its removed all it'll tell you is "+++Wahhhhhhh! Mine!+++" until its replaced.

Gotcha....when you're married everthing works on the FTB Protocol !!
