Not sure on your budget but the Four Seasons Fairways is really nice. I've gone a couple of times and loved it. Didn't have kids though so not really sure what that'd be like!!!

I would recommend Vilamoura in the Algarve - plenty of things to keep kids happy ther. I have 3 kids, and 2 years ago we ented an appartment in the Palmyra complex, in Vila Sol. Very safe, electric gates at the entrance, luxurious shared pool, beautiful appartments.
