After having a delicous Chicken Tikka Masala yesterday I was looking through Irish and British cuisine on the web and came across Faggots - - - which apparently are a type of meatball. Seemingly they are or have been available in Ireland, at least according to Wikipedia:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/****_%28food%29

We've all seen some funny brands while abroad but have you seen anything in Ireland that really makes you think the market researchers didn't do their job properly. I know I have but can't think of them now, if I come across them I'll share them here (providing this isn't locked in a nano-second).

    Any funnies to share?

Now kids - simmer down otherwise the thread will get locked prematurely. Keep the yapping to any oddities you've seen in the shops.

People who worked in Woodies tend to be great people ;)

Anyway even the name Woodies is great. I remember a granny came into a store complaining because she asked her granddaughter to show her the woodies website and when she typed in woodies.com (or similar) the granny nearly died ... she told the manager she wasnt happy. The grandaughter bookmarked the page afaik :D

I saw some faggots when I was doing my shopping in Lidl on Parnell St a while ago. Needless to say, I never shopped there again! :o
