Is there any way I can activate an XP install that has passed it's activation date and won't log in?

Is the version legit? - I thought with the normal version of XP it simply forces you to activate when logging in after the 30 days.

Has the activation grace period expired? If so then it should ask you if you want to activate now when you try to login.
