Converting Music in iTunes

Hi. Ive got lots of different formats in my iTunes. AIFF, AAC, WAV, MP3. Is there a way to convert all my music to MP3 and delete the original song?
It seems that when I convert a song from, say, AIFF to MP3, the new MP3 will be a copy and I have to manually delete the AIFF. This gets confusing espically when Im dealing with over 5000 songs.

All I want is a Library with nothing but MP3's as this would save alot of space.

    Thanks

then delete the aiffs or wavs when you've converted them.

    I would suggest a decent-quality setting -- 160kbs AAC or 192kbs MP3.
Then, in the options, go to View->Show Duplicates.
From there, add in Bit Rate & Kind to the library viewer (right-click the bar), this will allow you to easily sort out your collection.

    This.

The show duplicate tool solves all sorts of problems (eg. uploading individual albums and then a 'greatest hits' and having numerous duplicates.)
