(REQ) 500/750gb External Hard Drive

Any good ones around?
Can get a 500 delivered to UK address for EUR100, including delivery.
Or 750gb for EUR140. Both via amazon.co.uk.
Anything similar available for pick up in Dublin?
PS-going to US in March. Thought they might be cheaper there, but not according to amazon.com?
Also do they need an external power source? I thought they were powered via USB only...like USB pen

anything with a 3.5" disk will require external power.

I have used the storex ones (bought in PCWorld who own pixmania or vice versa) and they played everything i threw at it..
