The Xtra-Vision sale are always excellent.

EDIT: Actually, according to their site, it starts today.

It's starting tomorrow folks 100 euro off most of the tv's which is pretty good 10 euro off all phones some good prices on dvds and some of a couple of cameras. Main ones would be a 100 off the 32" Mirai which takes it down to 499 for 32" hd ready tv

Never trust that website guys!

Could be starting tomorrow but Im in saturday morning at 10 which I never am,so I only assume it is to sticker for the sale,in that case it won't even start until saturday! there usually are some good deals there though.

Website me arse! I looked for the phone number for the Letterkenny store on the website and it listed an out of service number.

Anyhow I found it in the local phone book and rang and they have their sale on now.

When i was in today about 1 o clock, they were only starting to put on sale stickers to a couple of DVD's.

No great reductions. €2 - €3 off most DVD's (Blade Runner - Final Cut for €16.99 etc.)

Nothing amazing.

But on the plus side, i made a fecking great buy in one of the local record stores in Sligo who were having a clearance with all DVD's half price. I had a voucher for €50 and i got all the following:

Complete Fawlty Towers Boxset - €20
My Left Foot - €5
The Butcher Boy - €7.50
21 Grams - €2.50
Super Size Me - €2.50
Speed - €5
The Notebook (for the girlfriend.. of course) - €7.50

Xtra-Vision will never top that methinks!

One of my boys was in the Letterkenny store just over an hour ago and while he said there were items marked as being on sale there were no bargains at all and a couple of the shelves were empty.

So they were either cleaned out or still to commence the sale.

It's The Record Room on Grattan Street.

It's across the road from the new Halifax store.

Mightn't be much left on Saturday though - some great deals in there and the majority of the stuff left was Irish "music" DVD's like Declan Nerney, Big Tom (etc).

Went to Xtravision tonight and it is one of the worst 'sales' I have ever seen. More like a 'let's get rid of the **** that no one will buy' sale.

thirded, terrible sale. i saw titanic for €9.99, hardly a good price for a 10 year old film. very little to be happy about. all i got was transformers 2 disc for €22.99 (reduced from €27.99)

No new games,which I was p!ssed off about myself,but the older ones have been reduced,Bioshock for 360 at €29.99 being the most notable. Godfather collection at €19.99,new Billy Connolly dvd down to €11.99 from €24.99,Battlestar Galactica season 2 down from €54.99 to €29.99. Alias Season 5 down from €59.99 to €29.99. (alias is €90 in Virgin and I bought it for €39.99 in HMV just before Christmas. There are some good deals on boxsets.

I know you can get nearly all of this stuff cheaper online,everything is.but as far as shops go,the above are some good deals and there are a few more in the boxsets and the dvds for sale.

The games are a joke though,I thought the newer games would get at least a fiver knocked off but nothing at all is just sh!tty to be honest.

The only 'deals' i saw was
Terminator 6-disc = E25 - E5 off
Mission Impossible = 5-disc E15 - E5 off
Sopranos series = 1-5 E30 - E5 off

Some ex rental boxsets E25-30.

That's about it?!
