As mentioned, bringing in George Hook to comment on the Ice skating on the late late show was pointless. Then again, the guy next to him didn't know much either, considering his preffered choice to win.

He's good, but himself and Ronan O'Gara need to get a room

He's the only thing that makes having to put up with the unprofessional and ignorant Tom McGurk bearable. At least you get a bit of a laugh.

I really like his radio show.

Most definitely spouts opinions in rugby just for the sake of being controversial. Although I do like watching the relationship between him and Pope. The latter always trying to keep the hysteria to a minimum. However don't get me started on McGuirk, I'd like to slap that fool.

Comes accross as the sort of guy I'd like to have a beer with. Very knowedgeable in a host of subjects and one of the few Irish men who know's what LBW is.

    The man is a legend.

Have no idea who he is?

Is he rugby's answer to Dunphy or something?

I love listening to 'The Right Hook' radio show, but when he starts spouting off about how great munster rugby is from all the way up Ronan O Gara's a$$, it makes me wanna beat him to death with ROG's right leg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

<HOOK_IMPRESSION.> aaahh, leinster, Leinster rugby is a sham right now - an absolute sham. Brian O Driscoll is a sham captain & a disgrace to Irish Rugby</HOOK_IMPRESSION>

** SHAKES THE EVER LOVING SH*T OUT OF GEORGE **

I used to be on a team coached by him, great guy. Enjoy the Right Hook, but would take his rugby punditry on RTE with a pinch of salt. However when he talks about rugby on the radio with Jim Glennon he is far less outspoken...

only because you don't understand it. Any game where you can turn up with a cool box full of beer, get pissed, fall asleep and not miss anything can't be bad can it;)

Ahh, well if you're bringing beer, that's a whole different story.

His voice drives me mental. Second only to David Norris in the annoying twat stakes.

Not at all. You just sound incredibly insolent, judgmental and unfair. Not to mention the fact that you're an atrocious speller.

I met him at a function recently (just before Rugby World Cup) - in the gents. And he shook hands after relieving himself - but before washing his hands!!

I like his outspoken views but the night I met him we both agreed that the Kiwis were at least 15-20 points better than anyone else and would easily win the WC!!

I listen to him every day on Right Hook, but only because he tends to have good guests.

GH himself is a fraud IMHO. You can hear in most of the stuff he is dicussing that his knowledge is based on the research done by his team 2 hours before. You can always see which side he is supporting. Very often doesn't listen to his guests when he want;s to change the subject. Frequently fails to ask obvious questions.

And last but not least, every friday gets his a$$ kicked by Michael Graham, and then pretends he won the discussion.

ive been listening to him for over a year now on newstalk and find him far more up-beat and entertaining than his nemisis cooper ,but where did he get that feckin accent like faive bu'ahcks ,we'll be (slight wiggle) t'lkeen! and p'pey p'pey p'pey....he's head inflated majorly after he did the ,"george on the psychiatrist chair" ,and there's been no stopping he's ego since then iv'e found having listened to him before and after ,im worried his head will inflate so much he will end up orbiting the earth! unless he's given a good dose of irish begrudgery.

    Who?

ah the auld "who" comment, making yourself out as if you've never heard him or don't care who he is or making him out to be not better than you....

Does anyone else find him incredibly annoying?

He is the most pessimistic, ignorant know-it-all I have ever seen!He never has anything good to say!Whether it is rugby or more recently ice skating(wtf?) he never has anything good to say...I mean whenever Ireland are playing he always says the opposing team are going to win!I just cannot stand him,why is he on our sreens??Am I the only one who thinks this of him!?

    rant over:o

No, I agree, he is a wanker, and is so anti Irish, at least it comes across this way in the rugby. When we win he blames the ref for being too hard on the opposition, and when we lose, it's a case of "I told you so."

I like Hook.. don't agree with a lot of what he says but as a presenter he's entertaining and much easier to listen to than for example, Tom (from that band) Dunne
