just one more thing, i have installed bsd subsystems,open ssh, and downgrade baseband, do i also need to install oktoprep before i restore to 1.1.1 and do i run anysim after i restore and which version, sorry to keep bothering you but i dont want to mess this up again

Nope only via, Turbo Sim,Stealth(not known if it works in europe yet), and iphonesimfreer.

ok ive done it in both but its saying, couldnt load the script pack , and then its coming up, anysim cannot unlock this phone, any sim cannot unlock this phone, but i have an 'E' where my wi- fi should be ???????

You may need to virginise your phone,I am going out now. Best bet is go to http://iphone.fiveforty.net/wiki/index.php/Main_Page and go to irc and say your problem and they wil sort you.Your best bet is do a virginise.

i restored to 1.1.1 , installed bsd, open ssh and the installed 'the virginiser' from the i.unlock.no repository, that reflashed my baseband, then i restored to 1.1.1 again , installed bsd and open ssh and then i ran anysim 1.1 and hey presto i have an unlocked iphone

Dan can you point me in the right direction of the best tutorial for upgrading my phone to 1.1.1 or 1.1.2.

I currentl have 1.0.2 original version fully unlocked.....

I wouldn't upgrade to 1.1.2 yet, there are still a few apps that don't work with it in installer. 1.1.1 is best IMO.
The following has a step-by-step to upgrading to 1.1.1 but I haven't tried it myself.

Yup or to go to 1.1.2 I'd recommend one of these guides:

I would agree stay at 1.1.1 no reason to upgrade to 1.1.2 yet being honest.

Sure you may as well run oktoprep and anysim 1.21u and update to 1.12 while you at it

There's an app in installer that fixes that bug completely.
It's called "phone no. to name fix".

They say they're for upgrading 1.1.1 iphones- the op says he's on 1.02. Many installer apps wont work with the old 1.02

Posters on this thread have said no, and that you simply buy over the counter. The mind boggles why CPW / O2 stores are doing this, as they are losing a lot of network commission for subsidised Iphones that are not being "activated" on a new O2 contract.

Yeah, i've had a look through the thread. Looks like the O2 stores are better as CPW ask alot of questions and do credit checks.
