Remove langauge from MS Word

Hey, so when i'm typing away using word, i sometimes notice that the language of my document (stated down at bottom) has changed itself from English (Ireland) to English (United States) How does one stop this happening? If possible i'd like to remove the US language altogether, sick and tired of getting words like colour…

How does one stop this happening? If possible i'd like to remove the US language altogether, sick and tired of getting words like colour flagged as being spelt wrong...
