    Hey,

I also placed an order with unlockthatiphone.com last thursday evening and have yet to hear anything from them despite the fact that according to paypal they've received payment. Unlockthatiphone.com havent been in touch at all despite phonecalls and emails asking to know what the story with my order. If they dont have phones in stock thats fine, i'd rather just know where i stand. Feel very uneasy about the whole thing. I went with unlockthatiphone.com becasue they got glowing reviews about customer service. Does anyone know anymore on this situation? I'm going to give them a few more days grace and then i think i'll have to consider starting a paypal dispute. Its all just a bit too unsettling. Any responses really appreciated, especially if they put me at ease.

I'm surprised that at this stage nobody has come up with an application for recording video clips through iphone camera.

Someone did but the framerate was rubbish, I think they were only managing 1fps!

Start a PayPal dispute now. And I suggest everyone else does the same. Taking peoples' money and remaining uncontactable like this, for this length of time, as absolutely appalling. I recommend that everyone in the same position as moorele starts a PayPal dispute. Perhaps that might teach them that ignoring paid up customers is no way to do business. We all know that they monitor this thread, and have even posted on it. We all know as well that the reason there's a delay is because of the current 1.1.2 OTB situation. However, there is NO reason for them to IGNORE their customers!

    Hey,
I have tracked down Stephen O'Sullivan. He does not respond to his mobile. I also have his address in Cork. Like you a few more days and if still no reply to my emails or phone calls. I will not only take up issue with Paypal but also as I have been advised the fraud squad. Hopefully it will not come to this.

I think An Garda Síochána would be a good place to start.

Sorry folks, but "businesses" like these make my blood boil. If you going to be in business, run it properly. Otherwise, don't be in business at all.

If you can get one do, its only a matter of time before you can unlock it, you can still use everything other than phone features until then

thats great, thanks for the advice....i will get on so!

Guys I have to agree with the most recent posts, I have been sitting on the fence now for some time leaving messages and sending emails to Stephen, and trying to get info on here, but I am now ready to take this further. I parted cash because of both the warranty he offered, and for the fact he assured me he would deal with any issues which may arise with the phone for one year. He has reneged on that offer and I have no choice but to pursue this with due process now.

Hey PowerHouseDan, can you confirm my understanding of the situation is correct? Buy iphone now and it gets delivered with firmware 1.1.2 This cannot be cracked at this stage but I can jailbreak the phone to access its features, ipod, wifi etc. Its a matter of sitting tight and it will be cracked. I can wait, if it takes a couple of months no big deal to me.
I have a mate coming back from US soon. I was thinking of getting the iphone. Im ordering the phone from an istore and getting it sent to his US address, Im presuming I don't have to sign a contract with AT&T straight away, heard something about registering it with itunes later (which I won't be doing).
Can you confirm my understanding of things is correct? Appreciate it.

    Jim

I dont understand why you people buy from unlockthatiphone. All they are doing is charging mad money for something you could do yourself for half the price.
You could even buy one off eBay cheaper!
He is making money on the back of freely available software.
The reason he is uncontactable is because he is waiting for the hackers to unlock the latest firmware/baseband combo. He cannot (like everyone else) unlock the latest iPhones.
Get your money back, wait for one of us to announce an unlock procedure here and then buy a phone from Newry (or wherever) yourself for ~€390.
I have no problem with someone charging for unlocked iPhones, but not at the money he's charging, and not with the customer service he is displaying, it's a joke.
Keep an eye out here for a FREE unlock solution.

Here is an interesting method that has been proven to work for 1.1.2. It's much cheaper than TurboSIM and StealthSIM and works in the same way. It involves copying the serial number and IMSI cards from the AT&T card and copying them to a MagicSIM and then placing your own SIM into the MagicSIM. I'm going to give this method a try, just ordered a MagicSIM and a SIM reader/writer from ebay. Bought together cost only €20 delivered.

unlockthatiphone have been selling iphone since they were only available in America,Not everyone could of gone to America to buy one so thats why people are going via unlock that iphone, Reason not buying off Ebay, What Gareentee have you got NONE! How is he making money on free software when they are using ipsf where is not free software per 100 ipsf lis it costs 36-39 euro to buy off ipsf and become a resellers.Everyone knows you can buy it half the price but what did you expect people to do fly over to america and buy one? I am sure the costs would be greater. And the reason i am standin up for them cos i have never had a problem my phone sotware went belly up and he fixed it free the next day.

Hey! I ordered an iphone last Tue with unlockthatiphone. Haven't heard from them since. Left few messages on their voicemail.
Do you people think it's a rip off????
Got in touch with Consumers Rights, they told me that unlock already broke terms and conditions.
Should I still wait or start panickin?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 283 ✭✭moorele

    Hi,

Thankfully, I just received a confirmation email from unlockthatiphone.com. Panic can subside now. I was informed that due to the new updates on the phones they now need stealth sims to unlock the phones and thats what the hold up is. Supposedly receiving them Friday & phones should be shipped the same day. Fingers crossed

how is it breaking terms and conditions? there is no law in unlocking phones???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 346 ✭✭denisor

    Your not alone Granger,

There are a few people on here behind the scenes active on this as I understand. Some people have tracked down his address and information on his delivery occupation and company etc.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34 grangerka

    fingers crossed then :)
there might be no t&c regarding unlocking phones
but there is for purchasing and shipping etc
getting absulutely mental at his stage
hope will get email from them as well

I think he's referring to Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act.

Wondering what time exactly you received email, and who exactly was it from. Why do you think that you got the email.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 346 ✭✭denisor

PowerHouseDan in my case I entered into a transaction with him for the purchase of an iPhone, with this warranty offer as part of the contract.

We provide a 12 Month Warranty with all of our iPhone's. If anything happens to the iPhone within that timeframe that is covered under the Warranty, we will replace the iPhone for you. We will in turn get the iPhone replaced by Apple.

He has to date reneged on this agreement, and there for has broken terms and condition he himself offered.

In other cases being discussed off board here, he has accepted money when he has no product to supply,

In the case of Granger above, an email at this stage to say goods shipping next week is just that , and email only.

NDS I can read between the lines on that too!

Its actually shocking the amount of people caught up in this, and we are only aware of the ones who read boards, how many are really caught up in this.

Received at 11.18am & no name on the end of the email. Came from support@unlockthatiphone.com. Perhaps they seen the posts on this forum & it encouraged them to get in touch with people. Has anyone else received an email? I have asked that they send me an email on friday to confirm my phone has been put in the post. If i dont hear anything again I will continue as planned with the paypal dispute (i have 45days from the date the order was placed). Maybe i am a bit niave but i'm hoping it will all work out.
