I have the Eco 18 case with a screen protector. Fits on very nicely and gives a nice all black finish. Doesn't add much bulk and is not made of rubber. Have had rubber skins before and they stretch and become loose over time.

    Quick question...

What is the status about buying an iphone in the UK and unlocking it for use on an Irish mobile network. Can it be unlocked for use on any network and are there any restrictions?? Appologies if this has been asked a million times but I read through a few pages and it was hard to find a definitive answer.

And how hard is it to unlock an iphone?

    Hi all.

If I were to buy one of these off eBay (jailbroken or not) would there be any other problems apart from waiting for the updated AnySim unlock method?

And if it were jailbroken and I had one of those custom sims, would I then have a fully working (unlocked) iPhone?

    Cheers.

    Yes.

i downgraded to 1.1.1, jailbroke and activated it, installed bsd subsystem , open ssh and oktoprep, then updated(not restored) it to 1.1.2, jailbroke it using the windows bat, then installed all the sources, found about 4 versions of anysim, all said 1.2.1u but when i ran them i just kept getting the message anysim cannot unlock this phone

oh by the way, all the versions of anysim had 1.2.u on the top when opened but the little welcome pop up said welcome to anysim 1.1? but that was on all 4

    Hi Speedy21,

I am in the exact same situation as you. I purchased an IPhone from unlockthatiphone two weeks ago. I have rang and emailed time and time again, but no reply. I see that you were advised to demand a refund. Has this worked for you ?

Hey all, just awaiting delivery of a phone from the US, i'm presuming it's a 1.1.2. After a lot of forum reading i think my best option is to get a StealthSim. Seems like the easiest solution for now. Anyone using one?

In realtion to what carrier i use. As O2 netowrk here has a funtioning edge network i thought i might switch from voda and get a data bundle from o2 instead.

I am assuming the iphone wont be shipping untill the 1.1.2 unlock software has actually been released, all phones now sold are 1.1.2 and there is no way to unlock them, i am guessing that why there is such a delay.

A stealth sim is the best option at THIS present moment but we should know soon what the story is with a new software unlock. As regards to the network up to yourself if you would use edge then moving to o2 would prob be the best bet, Meteor is far to expensive.

The problem with the stealthsim is that it is already pre-programmed. Of course this will make it easy for now, just pop it in straight from the box and you are good to go with 1.1.2. But I've yet to see anything to say that it can be updated at a later stage if Apple change something in the bootloader, rendering it useless. Anyone know?

This theoretically wouldn't be a problem with the TurboSIM as it can be coded.

If you can get one do, its only a matter of time before you can unlock it, you can still use everything other than phone features until then

A fair few people on the hackintosh forum.

None of them have received them yet, takes a few days for delivery. Should be arriving to them this week, so I would hold off on it until a few people confirm it works!
