uTorrent gone slow all of a sudden

I was downloading on uTorrent (my first download). It was going slow at the start (around 5.9kb/s), then I increased the upload limit to unlimited and the download speed soared up to around 50-60kb/s

However, I restarted my computer, the download started back up again (it's the same download, just around half way through), but now it's back at 3kb/s!!!!

What has happened here?

see, you're downloading the torrent from other people who have it (seeders/peers). how fast you get it, depends on how fast they're uploading it. some people set their max upload speed to 1kb/s..
