Sugar Sandwiches

Anyone eat these when they were young? lol

My friend said he did awhile ago, when he was young he ate them all the time! Then I had a massive flash back getting bread and putting sugar in it and folding it over and eating away

I don't know if id try it now though..

p.s I read the charter did, a search and couldn't find this and I dont know if its the right place.. it seems to be so if its not don't hate me this is my 1st post in here but ive read in here lots

Yup, they were great when you were hungry and there was nothing else to eat.:)
Besides, people tend to put sugar on banana sandwiches so it's really just a banana sandwich where someone nicked the banana, better than just bread on it's own.

My dad said he used to eat biscuit sandwiches, marietta ones I think.
Never tried a sugar sandwich myself, I really should one day..

My 98 year old granny used to make these for me as a kid. She's has sadly gone a bit senile, and made me some a few weeks back. Taste great as a kid, Tasted Fvcking horrid as a 25 year old man.
She's 99 new years eve

ya we had air sandwiches and sugar sandwiches when we were young...
Lemon curd sandwiches...
corned beef and brown sauce sandwiches..where there was no bread...just two slices of corned beef and brown sauce in between them.

I had sugar sambos too,was about the only sweet thing I had as a child.Only problem was it was usually on stale bread..:(

I used to get dry sticks of spaghetti, wet them, and dip them into sugar and eat them.... I had a very deprived childhood

ah the good old days! kids today are missing out

If we had no bread mam would just mash a banana on a plate, sprinkle sugar over it and if we were lucky we got a cherry on top, cos ye know bananas, sugar and a cherry go so well together

Never had Sugar sandwiches but I have had tomato ketchup sandiwches and peanut butter and jam sandwiched!

I actually still eat peanutbutter and jam sandwiches

Speaking of breathtakingly unhealthy meals, anyone remember those Desperate Dan chew bars, or Dennis the menace bars? they used to pull the teeth out of your head and were so sweet you could see through time

Sugar sandwiches, used to love them. I also used to love crushing up a bowl of rice krispies with sugar with my spoon until I created dust and would then eat the dusty treat. No idea why I did that, but it was well before Little Britain.

Never had it on untoasted bread, that sounds manky. My fav was brown soda bread with butter and brown sauce. Bleedin delish.

My dad does digestive biscuit sandwiches occassionally (yuk) and used to do 2 digestives with nutella in the middle. Has also been known to use digestives with icecream when there were no wafers in the house, like 1 biscuit halved with a big chunk of vanilla in the middle.
He has a stomach like a horse
