SimCity Societies - totally flawed ??

I've just been reading up on the new simcity only to find out it's not really based on simcity anymore - only that it's about a city.
All the technical glitches aside - it appears to be getting sooooo much bad criticism about sticking the simcity badge on something so childish...

it's really sad - no more fixing the water supply or upgrading the road system?????

has anyone bought it and given it a good chance ???

i don't know whether to buy it out of curiousity or just leave it be and wait till they actually release a proper simcity. for now me thinks i'll stick to simcity 4!

It's a completely different kind of game. It's only relation to SimCity games is in its name. Once you forget about SimCity it's an ok game in it's own right. Nothing special really, but playable for a while anyway. It lacks the depth you'd expect from a SimCity game.

Best review I've read yet. It captures the good and the bad of the game well.

Oh my god I hate it. I was so disappointed when I played it. Was expecting a cooler and slicker version of sim city 4 (my favourite game). Coordinating transport etc was the funnest thing imo and they got rid of all that. Its even made by a different developer.
