    Hello y'all,
I am looking to rent a cottage 'in the sticks':) for about 2 weeks for recording puposes. Ideally within a 2 hour radius of Dublin but not essential. It will obviously need to be detached and a good distance from other accomodation. Wood floors etc, for good acoustics. Any advice or info on such places would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    J.

It will be very hard to find a cottage with ready made acoustics for recording. Its a great idea but in theory it might involve a lot of work before you start tracking. If the room has standing waves or nodes then it could ruin the recording of great performances. Also monitoring may miss lead you in an untreated space, what may sound bass heavy may actually be the room sounding bass heavy and not your mix. Unfortunately these ill effects take time and money to fix.

If you do find one make sure you read up on DIY acoustic treatment before you get there and only mix when you are back in familar surroundings.
