I am actually surprised that this question has never came up here before.

Of course I will remain unbiased.

    Barrys, to be sure

I read in Guiness Book of Records that we cosume the most tea per capita, over 1000 cups per person per year. Crazy. Whos drinking all the tea?

lyons, they shouldn't be allowed to call Barry's tea, it should have 'tea flavoured drink' or some such on the box

Lyon's and Punjana are great :)

Barry's Gold Blend loose leaf tea. Being from Cork, I was bought up on this stuff, Tea bags just don't compete.

I also quite like Bewley's Clipper Red

There's a big difference in taste between the English (Tetley's, Punjana etc) and Irish teas. The Iisih teas seem to be stronger with more taste.

i've always noticed this and last night i was on the wikipedia entry for irish breakfast tea and it mentioned that there is a prevalence in ireland towards assam tea

1000 a year is not that much to be fair its only like 3 cups a day. I know people who would put away over ten so i suppose it averages out!

    Lyons FTW

Exactly! I remember when I used to go on Family holidays abroad and my mam used to bring a supply of Lyons teabags with her. I used to think she was mad..... Went to Denmark and Holland this year and didn't bring any of my Lyons with me and I suffered for it! The tea there was some crap english tea that just wasn't tea in my book! From now on I'm bringing Lyons with me!!! :D:):D

Thank you Mam for giving me my love/addiction to tea!!!!!
