Converting DVD / DVD Image to most suitable form for PS3

Hi, I've loads of dvd's and even more dvd images and I was wondering how do I convert these dvd's and images to a format i can store on my HD? What is the best format to store as? Thanks Gary

ps3video9 will convert other formats for viewing on your ps3. the ps3 video format is mp4 so if you can find a program to rip your dvd's directly to mp4 you'll be flying, I don't know any offhand though.
