Xbox 360 and Eircom Router

Hey all, I'm having problems with my Xbox 360 and the Eircom Netopia router at the moment. For some reason it's not picking up an IP address. It picks one up for a minute and then loses it again. Hey all,

I'm having problems with my Xbox 360 and the Eircom Netopia router at the moment.

For some reason it's not picking up an IP address. It picks one up for a minute and then loses it again. I have the DHCP lease set to 4 hours.

I've also tried setting a static IP address on the Xbox but that's not working.

I'm using a wireless range extender as part of my network. I took that out of the equation but it's still not picking up an IP address (or DNS info!)

Any ideas?

On your pc go to a browser[ ie Internet Explorer] and type into address bar 192.168.1.254 and press enter.
On the page you get on the left you need to click on firewall[you may have to click home first than firewall] and change the settings to low. Works in 99% cases
