Just seen this on RTE website

    http://www.rte.ie/sport/athletics/2006/1030/marathon1.html

When I finished today I was a bit disappointed but I always say if you can finish a marathon and feel no ill health it's a good marathon.

This is a real tragedy !

    Jesus that's awful. RIP.

Thats a real shock. My heart goes out to the runner's family and friends. Something like that can really put things into perspective. I ran in Connemara 2 years back when a young englishman Frank Hynes died during the half marathon and while I never knew him I think of him quite a lot in my running. I'll endeavour to do the same in this case.

Yeah terrible event alright, I have heard of this happening at a few marathons over here. Horrible end for a wonderful event.
