I have flights to Geneva (can be changed for Zurich). I just want something thats easy to get to!

It is possible to get a train direct from the airport?

    Thanks

Chamonix, Zermatt,Tignes, Val d'Isere are all within a couple of hours of Geneva.
Zurich is further from these areas
Last year Zermatt was a train journey, 1 change. easy.
There are also busses which do regular runs from the airport.

here's a link to a map of the domaine "les portes du soleil"

    http://www.locweb.com/images/plans/planportesdusoleil.jpg

this domaine is to the west of geneva. geneva is on the east side of the lake you see at the bottom of the map. just for info, this is a huge domaine and you can ski from one resort to the next etc. there is never a shortage of snow near avoriaz and morzine, however the smaller and lower resorts might lack snow (depending on the time of year, etc...). This domaine is awesome and there is skiing for all levels- probably lacks a bit in blacks though, and you can ski everyday 10 hours a day and never do the same pistes twice as long as they 're all open.

as an estimate for you, it takes between an hour and an hour and a half to drive from geneva to morzine, and there are also buses from geneva to all these resorts (almost certain, definitely to marzine and avoriaz etc...)

I like the sound of this! :D

First time to Geneva. I assume bus runs directly from / very near the airport?

i don't know if they go from the airport or not, maybe, but the town centre isn't too far. we always rented a car so drove there as we always stayed in a chalet in the middle of nowhere so always had to drive to the slopes in the morning

unfortunately not. you might want to look for a catered chalet which might be the best option for 2. just google hotels + "name of village" or B&B etc. or chalet

there are a few bars and clubs in morzine and avoriaz (the 2 resorts that i know) but nothing special really, so i wouldn't count on brilliant clubbing if you're after that though
