Req:voice mail on an english fone

Can anyone tell me how you dial straight into voicemail on a english mobile phone. I know if I was doing an irish one it would be the network prefix and then 5. The mobile I am trying to ring is 0044+2089xxxxxx,I just want to ring into their voicemail so I can leave a message;)

020?? Sounds like a London landline to me. Usually UK mobiles have a prefix of 07.

Thanks for that Karsini, must double check that as I thought they had given me a mobile number. Do all Uk mobiles start with 07, so they dont have a system like us where each network has it own prefix.

020 is a landline number, specifically geographically located in London

UK mobiles all start with 07, just as Irish networks all start with 08.

Networks do have their own prefixes, but generally they have quite a few due to the number of subscribers - for exampke 07123 456789 is how the numbers are formated in the UK, where 07123 might indicate it started life as a Vodafone, O2 number etc (but just like here, people can move networks).

Anyway, to the original point - I don't believe UK networks have the "dial 5" voicemail option.
