Switching from Eircom to BT - Keep modem?

I am considering switching from Eircom to BT for BB (basic bundle). Putting aside any issues anyone may have about customer service etc, can anyone enlighten me regarding the eircom modem ( I have a Netopia 2270) - Do Eircom actually look for the modem back? If not, do they enforce the charge? BT are offering their Voyager…

if your with eircom 12+ months then you can keep it afaik

even if you dont they prob wont want it back. i kept mine when i switched over but i was with them 15 months...
