Got that surround system myself a while back. Great little system. Only caveat is that it doesn't have a optical in connection.

From what I know, Pioneer TVs are renowned as being among the best you can get.

If I was in the market for a system, I would take your hand off.

    Very generous offer.

I'm hoping to get my hands on the Pioneer PDP-LX508D in the near future. Any discounts/bargains on one of them?;)

The LX50 is only in the door here. Nothing on them yet.

What do you mean what happens? You get your full warranty, and i think I can get an extra year with this. So 2 years in total.

You will get a receipt, So theres not problem.

    Very interested.

What would be the payment and delivery options?

Why is the output on the surround system so low, 360w?

Would you be able to get any discounts on any LCD tvs?

I'm no expert but... is 3000:1 contrast ratio not crap?

Free Delivery anywhere in Ireland, Payment would be by cash / Credit Card or Cheque,

The output is 360 because it's made like that,,, i didnt make them so i dont know.

    Pioneer dont do LCDs.

3000:1 is not the best out there. But it's still good.

Well if you're looking for a 1080p plasma, you'll be looking at a lot more than €1600!

Pioneer plasma's are renowned for being pretty much (along with Panasonic) the best plasma's on the market today.
Added to that, Plasma's give a better SD picture, and better black levels, than LCD.
Plus, 1080p @ 42" will be almost unnoticeable unless you're sitting around 6 feet from the tv.

So unless it's all 1080p content you're watching, from an almost nose touching distance from the screen, this would be a good set to go for.

The biggest problem I'd have with the set is it only has 1 x hdmi socket.

Its a discontinued model of TV, but for that money its a steal.

And from experience, the surround system is not lacking in power or bass.

What I mean is is something goes wrong with it where does it have to be returned to you or a shop or the manufactors?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,360 ✭✭✭NeVeR

Pioneer have there own Irish Service Dept on the Naas road. You could return it there or call the service dept they might be able to get it collected from your house. But all repairs happen in house and not in the home.
