adjusting silvercrest sat to pick up BBC

Hi, just bought that Lidl satelite kit today (the Silvercrest - €80). I already had a really old dish on the side of the house with an analogue receiver where I was able to pick up lots of German Channels/Eurosport/.
I plugged in the new Silvercrest receiver to see if I could get going without finding a 'man with a ladder'.
Now I'm confused, can't seem to get any of the BBC/ITV stuff (get a no signal message on the sceen) but can get channels such (German)BR-Alpha (EPG 396) SWR(EPG 397),Phoenix (EPG 399), Sky News (EPG 530)
So question is: do I need to re-angle my dish somewhere else or change the old LNB for the new one or do some configuration on the STB?
Any info on this would be appreciated:)
    gok

well your dish is pointing at Astra 19 East and the channels you are looking for are on astra/Eurobird 28 East. So your dish needs to be realigned. as for the LNB they have come a fair bit from the days of analogue (noise wise) it looks as if you have a universal LNB but hard to say with the channels you listed Phoenix would be receivable on the older non universal LNB as well (just). Anyway what I would do is put up your new dish for astra 28 and get a diseqc switch and feed both satellite dishes to your new receiver.

This website provides guidance on dish alignment and on the channels available:

Thanks conax, looks like my dish is aligned at 19.2E and I need to have it re-aligned at 28.2E in order to get BBC/ITV. I just want this dish as a low-cost replacement for my aerial which is pointing towards Wales and giving me BBC/HTV/S4C. It would be nice to be able to get the other channels on 28.2E but don't want the house to look like 3 Rock mountain! and also the extra cost of that diseqc switch..
I guess I'll have to get the ladder and move the dish a bit - any idea if the movement is up a little and by far? (its hardly left/right).

I had exactly same problem when fitting mine. Just point it down and small bit and bring it more eastwards (it surprised me how east it actually was).
Roughly direction-wise point it at the sun around 11:45AM.

drop the dish forward by around 3 deg and rotate the dish East slowly while using the "beeper" (if it comes with it) or by looking at a pre tuned FTA channel on you satellite box fine tune the position by using the signal/quality level indicators.
