Can I Split satellite signal to 2 receivers?

I know this is probably a stupid question, but before I make any additional purchases I wanted to confirm the following. I currently have two dishes both feeding to one Receiver via a DiSEqC switch, now if I wanted to feed that signal to 2 receivers can I just use a splitter? I assume the answer is no other wise there wouldn't be a need for dual and quad LNBs, I assume it's because the LNBs need to get their power from the receiver. So even if I wanted to have to adjacent boxes one for recording one channel and the other for watching another channel I'd need to have dual LNBs and two separate wires running and in my case also 2 separate DiSEqC switches? In my case I want to send the signal to another room so am I correct in assuming I'll need both dishes to have dual LNBs (one already does) and have a cable from each of the LNBs to each of the two DiSEqC switch and then run independent cables from each DiSEqC switch to the two TVs??
