Recommendations for XP unformat tool ??

I am dumb. I formatted my USB key by mistake, when I actually wanted to format an external hard drive. I formatted the USB key through Disk Manager (right click My Computer/Manage/Disk Management). I am running Win XP Pro - SP2.

When you've stopped laughing - if you have any recovery advice, please let me know. Preferably freeware. (yeah, I'm dumb and cheap)

i think it only recovers file types it recognises eg. jpg,doc etc. so wouldnt do a complete restore
