Mods i hope its ok to put this thread here as we don't have a forum for it and i am sure loads of people here play it.

Can people give a beginner some tips/strategy on playing this ? How much skill is actually involved in the game?

Anyone recommend sites to play online ?

    Thanks
    Opr

Thanks RT , I am very new to the game which leads me to believe that my question on skill/strategies thinking about it might be a bit silly. As if someone asked this about poker i would laugh. I am gonna research the game on the net just through i would ask here first.

How much skill is involved in the game and how does analysis/depths of the game compare to poker ?

Rummy is like beginners mythical, so learn to play that and you will be sorted.

Yeah i seen the thread on the basic rules for that a while back. Thats part of the reason i am trying to give it a go i thought leaning this would give me a good basic grounding. I also just finished a book about Stu Ungar detailing his life and never realised till then the game involved a large amount of skill.

Try as much attention to the cards your opponent is picking up, try to block him. As for you own cards, get used to working out your outs, how cards in the deck will fit what you are looking for.
