Where can I read up on computer-speak?

Hi all, long-time lurker first time posting so apologies if this is the wrong place/already dealt with elsewhere. Am intending to upgrade my old hp computer and am a bit out of touch with recent (make that most!) compter-speak. Would appreciate advice on where I could read up on the jargon (a website/book etc???) so I could enlighten myself a little before I go looking. The basics spelled out in plain English! Thanks.
(Have been looking around here & elsewhere but I'm on dial-up so tend to give up in frustration sometimes!)
