    HI There,

Is there a way to download url's & get them to convert into Mpeg format (PAL) to burn onto a dvd & to play on a standalone player.

I came across AnyVideoConverter from Mozilla's add-ons in which you can paste the url from Youtube & convert to a dvd compliant for burning.

Its similar like vixy.net, but im looking for one for divx files as AnyVideoConverter required me to login to Stage6 & after i did it still told me i needed to login? so i think its only useful for Youtube like vixy turned out to be in the end :(

    Thanks.

What you want is a linux virtual machine (or just a proper linux install). wget to download the file and mencoder to encode it to dvd format. You could automate the whole thing /very/ easily.

The VideoDownloader add-on for Firefox will allow you to download from YouTube. Then just use WinAVI to convert the .FLV file into DVD format and burn the VIDEO_TS folder.

Hi Khannie, thanks for that, but does that mean you have to change your OS? i've heard of linux alright but probably sounds too technical?

Hi CptSternn, i tried out VideoDownloader once but i got bored when i saw the sign to say it 'couldnt download' AGAIN & uninstalled when i came across this page
Vixy.net is an online FLV converter that convert online flash video to common video file formats. It is handy because it does the conversion for us!
I think worth a look-all in one machine!
I use DownloadHelper-Mozilla add-on works better for other sites & not just on YouTube IMO.

But im looking for one that can deal with url's linking to divx files as i know how to convert+burn them.

Thanks for the help & any more to come.
