    Hi

Well I got hold of a three.ie usb modem today and its hooked up to my desktop pc, speeds are going pretty good with it, so next thing I'd like to do is set up a wlan to connect this internet connection to my wii and laptop

I have an eircom/netopia dsl router lying idle, is it possible to use this to share out the three.ie connection if i connect it through the ethernet to my pc, and if so how do I set this up?

    many thanks

    3G Wireless Router - D-Link DIR-451 (PCMCIA or USB)

takes the data card and the usb modem

i use a linksys router with the data card.. works great to get the signal around the house.. in tha garage and half way up the road..

Plug your pc directly into the router that you have.

Set the ip configuration to have the same subnet as your router and the default gateway as the ip of your 3 connection...

Now on the router just set the ip so that it is just different to your pc... don't use dhcp... an example would be something like this...

    PC Connection
    ip 192.168.1.2
    subnet 255.255.255.0
    gateway/3 conn ?.?.?.?

    Router 192.168.1.1
    subnet 255.255.255.0
    gateway 192.168.1.2

    DNS... same as 3 conn

Set up dhcp on router to assign addresses say from 192.168.1.100 and up...
