ha! yeah...And the stamps had acorns on them?? In my primary school the 6th class students went round and sold them to the other classes. You felt so grown up doing the stamps every week.

Yup, had one of these back in primary school, think I managed to save up all of £20... my parents were just glad that I was learning to save.
Not sure if I ever officially closed the account, imagine they (an post) must have done so themselves by now, only had left ~50cent in it the last time I went near it.

Same thing happened in our primiary school in the 1980's. I had the privilege of going up to the village on Friday mornings to the post-office to buy the stamps. Felt so mature. Can't beleive the memories that Cyril the Squirrel brought back!

Yeah I remember. I put my communion money in one. That was 20 years ago now. I don't have the book anymore and I think that branch has since closed. Do you think I'll be able to get it back? Think of the interest! :D

I dont remember at all at all.
I did have a Henry the Hippo savings account
with Ulster Bank. My Parents did not like ulster bank
so I only had 5 pounds ever in the accouts.

Got Henry Hippo money bank/wallet/comic and stickers.
Later on as I hit 13 years of age they gave you a credit card
like card like thing!!! that Countdown or somthingorother, that had
a logo with blue and red semi circles. You could go about the place
and get 10% discounts off places like shops and hotels that
displayed a sticker for ulster bank. I also remember they gave you
a more serious plastic folder with an A4 refill pad and an actual biro!!!
(Back then at 13 your were only allowed to use pencil so a biro was a big deal)
