This is a strange one but I'm just wondering how standards work when it comes to finding a person attractive. Do uglier people find it easier to fancy someone? I don't know how best to explain it. I find that quite a few women would be attracted to me but they're not exactly the best looking women in the world. The one's that I'd find attractive usually wouldn't be interested in me.

How can an lad get sexually aroused by someone that most of us would find ugly? Obviously he doesn't find that person ugly. Is it a mental thing or is it something in the genes?

it's only people as good lookin as yourself who find you attractive in my experience. This is probably some kind of primal instinct which exists to preserve the world's good lookin gene pool and prevent beautiful women from mating with potato headed blokes, thus leaving us eventually with a race comprised entirely of plain janes and johns

firstly the whole gorgeous girl and ugly guy thing - thats because he has a nice car!!! its always the way.
secondly girls are always looking for something better and will always try to get the most gorgeous fella ever but in reality he wouldnt touch her with yore ma!!!!

nah, course its not all about looks. we just look more manly and Bond-like when we pretend they are. In reality we all just want someone who will hold us and tell us its all gonna be ok. seriously though personality and a good sense of humour are crucial

Simple fact of the matter is you HAVE to find someone attractive no matter what their personality is you can't simply be with someone because they stimulate you in conversation....

However, it doesn't have to be the most mind boggling guy/girl in order for you to be attracted to them. In my honest opinion sometimes lust is not always greater than love and if you can find an utterly amazingly good looking girl who does it for you in all other departments then good look to you, But I know of many "ORDINARY" women who I often say "Yup not bad" However more importantly they bring something else to the relationship, not just sex appeal.

well i personally would go for a guy i can have a laugh with rather than the gorgeous one!!
with the gorgeous one every girl is gonna be after him but with the guy who isnt gorgeous but isnt ugly either people look but realise hes yours and dont go near him.
yes of course you need to find the person attractive in some way but i would prefer to get to know a guy before i decide if i want to be with him!!!
thats probably why im stil single :eek:

I don't know about that now. I'd say the reason Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie adopted all them poor kids is because Angelina Jolie knew that any male offspring they bore themselves would have her lips, would look like Mick Jagger and would be an outcast from the beautiful people. Beautiful person + beautiful person does not always = beautiful person. Incidentally, Mick Jagger has fathered some beautiful offspring...

yep, he has sired some beauties. And i agree its weird how ugly people have hot children. maybe its like maths class, remember how a minus x minus equals a plus?

you have identified the 2 traits of what women want. 1) cash 2) laugh but also 3) looks. Looks wont get a woman too far, Laughing can only go on so far, in the end all they want is cash. If you are a good looking bloke and are funny and good craic she will soon get sick of that while her friends ended up with the ugly cheating, non humourous but loaded gonzo's are driving round in big cars (usually crass SUV's), have nice houses away from all the undesirables, can send there kids to nice schools and have a nanny to look after them while she hits the gym and looks better at 40 then 20. Meanwhile the women who went for "laugh and looks" is now fat, ugly, has badly educated kids and horrid crude neighbours and has a husband (who is losing his looks and sense of humour) who hates her coz she resents him for not being corrupt and dishonest enough to supply the cash and lifestyle her friend has with ugly bloke who now looks much more attractive than he used to coz he provides it all. :eek:
